About Aotearoa Infinite Academy

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, pioneering accessible, world-class education for students in Years 9-13 across all of Aotearoa. We combine international (Pearson Edexcel pre-IGCSE and IGCSE) and national (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) curricula with a flexible, virtual learning model that prioritises wellbeing, belonging, and personalised support.

Join our Relief Teacher Pool and provide high-quality, flexible coverage across a range of subjects in our live virtual classrooms. Supporting students in Years 9–12, you will step in to deliver Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2–3 curricula when regular staff are unavailable. This is a fully remote, casual position that allows you to work from anywhere in New Zealand, ensuring learning remains seamless and engaging for our students.

What You’ll Do

• Jump in and lead: Deliver live, subject-specific lessons (often at short notice) to keep the momentum going.

• Build quick rapport: Dive into different virtual classrooms and instantly connect with students to keep them engaged.

• Bring the energy: Take the provided lesson plans and run with them, making sure every student feels supported.

• Keep things consistent: Follow the lead of our permanent team to provide helpful feedback and steady guidance.

• Manage the digital space: Use our online tools to keep the classroom environment safe, productive, and fun.

What We’re Looking For

The Essentials:

• NZ Registration: You must hold current Full NZ Teacher Registration.

• Flexibility: A "can-do" attitude and a willingness to cover a variety of subjects.

• NCEA Savvy: A solid understanding of NCEA Levels 2–3 to keep our seniors on track.

• Tech Confidence: You’re comfortable with digital tools and can troubleshoot on the fly during a live session.

• Reliability: You’re responsive and can stay calm and professional, even when jumping into a class last minute.

Nice to Have:

• Curriculum Range: Experience with IGCSE or Pre-IGCSE is a bonus.

• Online Experience: If you’ve taught via Zoom, Teams, or an LMS before, you'll fit right in.

• Engagement Tools: Familiarity with interactive digital tools to keep online lessons interesting.
