Mt Hobson Academy is an established private, online school providing quality teaching and learning for Years 1-13 students across New Zealand. We deliver positive, learning-focused relationships and an engaging Project-Based Curriculum for Years 1-10, followed by the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) pathway for Years 11-13.

The Opportunity

Teach inspiring mathematics through live virtual classrooms, delivering the New Zealand Curriculum for Years 1-10 and NCEA pathway for Years 11-13. Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building positive, learning-focused relationships with students and families.

What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging live online mathematics lessons to students across year levels
• Create personalised learning experiences that meet individual student needs
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment
• Collaborate with qualified teachers in a supportive, high-quality team
• Support students in teacher-led, parent-led, or hybrid (Emi) learning modes
• Provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative assessment aligned to curriculum goals
• Contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team
• Develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Full NZ Teaching Registration
• Mathematics teaching qualification and subject expertise
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand Curriculum and/or NCEA pathway
• Excellent communication skills and comfort with digital technology
• Ability to engage students across diverse year levels
